Haven't you always witnessed women being the center of attention when it comes to media,or when Adz publicize the ''perfect women'', and order to be like the women on T.V buy this or use this as if its the solutions to there problems.. Most people would agree that media plays a big role in a women s addiction into always trying to look good, making them believe that a nip here and a tuck there will do the deed. Studies shows that women who possess these body image concerns are twice as likely to compare their own bodies to those of the thin models who are airbrushed and edited in the advertisement
In today's society we start to see a similarity towards the male gender in what women had dealt with for a very long time. As most have experienced we see men are usually the one that
are masculine who don't really have a issues or concerns about the way they look.Keep in mind that our views of gender have actually changed over time and some traits which now might be considered manly are actually pretty feminine. Media used to target women mostly but times have changed men are just as much being targeted in the media. Body dissatisfaction amongst boys and young men is fuelled by the idealized male bodies they see in media. We knew that 'body talk' affected women and young people and now we know that it affects men too, Men worry about their body shape and appearance beer bellies, man boobs, or going bald. All these imperfections are said to be cured by a simple product that is promoted in the media.
Individuals like Mark Jacob who came up with a makeup line for men stated, “To me, beauty and makeup and color is like the finishing touch on everything,”. Is it acceptable to know that men today are focused on appearance and believe makeup is the answer?Anxiety about body image has led to some men conceding they would exchange a year of their life for the perfect physique.

2) why has it gotten to the point were males are being targeted just the same as women now in the media?
